'Bilderberg is criminele bende'

Het is in onderstaand artikel interessant om te zien welke keuzes het APN maakt in het aanhalen van citaten uit het artikel van The Times. De invalshoek van het ANP bij de berichtgeving over de Bilderbergbijeenkomst van dit jaar is niet heel journalistiek te noemen. Het artikel spreekt al in de tweede alinea over 'samenzweringstheoriën' en haalt daarbij een extreem citaat aan, waarbij het verwijst naar de bron, de respectabele krant The Times. Maar in het artikel staat veel interessantere informatie die een journalistieker ANP-bericht hadden gemaakt. Dit citaat is minstens zo spectaculair als wat het ANP heeft gebruikt, maar geeft een andere kleur: '“To say we were striving for a one-world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair,” Lord Healey told the author Jon Ronson for his book Them: Adventures with Extremists. “Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn’t go on for ever fighting one another for nothing. So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing.”'
Opmerkelijk: Na het citeren uit het artikel in Times vervolgt het ANP-artikel met een zin waarin staat dat een 'superstaat onder leiding van Lucifer is niet de enige zorg van Bilderbergbloggers'.

Vrijdag en zaterdag verzamelen zich in beslotenheid naar schatting 130 wereldleiders in een luxe hotel in Vouliagmeni, een voorstad van Athene. Zij bespreken er naar verluidt vrijelijk over gewichtige zaken, zoals de huidige recessie. De bijeenkomst is een Bilderbergconferentie die zoals gebruikelijk in het geheim wordt gehouden. Het is een van oorsprong pro-Amerikaanse, westerse club.

De geheimzinnigheid van de 55 jaar geleden mede door toedoen van prins Bernard in Oosterbeek gestarte bijeenkomsten, is een bron van inspiratie voor liefhebbers van samenzweringstheoriën. Even ten noorden van Vouliagmeni betitelde recent de Grieks-orthodoxe metropoliet (aartsbisschop) van Pireus de conferentie als een „criminele bende van het wereldzionisme die zich inspant om op de wereld een wrede dictatuur te vestigen onder aanvoering van Lucifer (de duivel)”. Dat berichtte donderdag de Britse krant The Times vanuit Griekenland.

Een superstaat onder leiding van Lucifer is niet de enige zorg van Bilderbergbloggers. Tal van Eurosceptici hebben gemeend dat de ontwikkeling van de Europese Unie tot sterke eenheidsstaat werd en wordt beraamd op deze onderonsjes. Opvallend is dat Eurocommissarissen meestal tot de gasten behoren. Tal van linkse geesten zien in de Bilderbergconferenties een kapitalistische samenzwering van een internationale elite die stiekem zijn macht wil uitbreiden. In de VS zijn er mensen die vermoeden dat het eigenlijke doel van de conferentie is de Verenigde Staten te laten opgaan in een veel grotere centraal geregeerde unie.

Wie er aanwezig zijn, is over het algemeen ook geheim. De president van de Wereldbank, Robert Zoelick, is donderdag „voor zaken in Athene” volgens zijn woordvoerder. Op de agenda van de Amerikaanse minister van Financiën, Tim Geithner, staat vrijdag en zaterdag merkwaardigerwijs helemaal niets. De baas van de Deutsche Bank, Jo Ackermann, is „de komende dagen op reis ergens in Europa”. Het hoofd van de ECB, Michel Trichet, blijkt „niet aanwezig tot het einde van de week”. Ook de Nederlandse justitieminister Hirsch Ballin is volgens kringen rond het kabinet van de partij.

Obama continues Bush's Iran policy - 3

'America's Pro-Israel Lobby', as AIPAC calls itself, holds the biggest conference in its history today, yesterday and the day before in Washington. 'This year, the lobby has built its annual conference, and its entire lobbying agenda around the issue of Iran', writes Haaretz.
