Analisten van ING houden rekening met een aanval op Iran. De bank heeft aanwijzingen verzameld dat er binnenkort een luchtaanval door Israël kan plaatsvinden. Download hier het hele rapport.

 Zo hebben de Verenigde Staten twee vliegdekschepen naar de Golf gedirigeerd om Israël te kunnen helpen tegen wraakacties. Mogelijke wraakacties zijn het dichtgooien van de Perzische Golf, waarlangs 20% van de wereldwijde olietransport loopt. Of een beschieting met raketten door Iran op Israël. Dramatisch De aanval zal dramatische gevolgen hebben voor de financiële markten, zelfs als Iran geen of bijna geen wraak neemt voor de mogelijke aanval. Aandelen zakken in terwijl olie, goud en daaraan gerelateerde grondstoffen stijgen. Ook op de valutamarkt zal de invloed groot zijn, met name voor de dollar en de Turkse lire. Verassing De gevolgen zullen groot zijn omdat het een verassingsaanval betreft (de aanval op Irak was aangekondigd) en omdat in de financiële markten de consensus is dat er geen aanval op Iran komt. Waan Volgens de ING-analyse leven de financiële markten te veel in de waan dat een aanval op Iran is uitgesloten vanwege de dramatische ontwikkelingen in Irak de laatste jaren. De regeringen van de VS en Israël staan misschien zwak op het moment, maar omdat Israël de ontwikkeling van nucleaire technologie door Iran als bedreigend voor haar bestaan ervaart, zou dat land binnen enkele maanden misschien toch kunnen ingrijpen. Obama continues Bush's Iran policy - 3
'America's Pro-Israel Lobby', as AIPAC calls itself, holds the biggest conference in its history today, yesterday and the day before in Washington. 'This year, the lobby has built its annual conference, and its entire lobbying agenda around the issue of Iran', writes Haaretz. AIPAC is very influential, and Washington fears the long arm of the lobby. One of the resources it employs is the Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (TFI).

Obama continues Bush's Iran policy - 2
The battle against Iran has already begun. War is only one phase of this process - just as it was with Iraq. The preparation is the most important part of the battle. Whoever thought that the preparation for war ended when Barack Obama took office is advised to take note of the views of critical thinker Noam Chomsky in the previous installment of this DeepJournal series. He says that Obama's policy on Iran is a continuation of the policy of his predecessor, President Bush. Anyone who cares to look at the facts will see that he is right.
