Ministerie van Angst valt door de mand

In deze tijden van 'oorlogen en geruchten van oorlogen' is het essentieel voor de mannen met de plannen om de waarheid zo te draaien dat die ten voordele van hen kan worden ingezet. Want als het volk dat zij zogenaamd vertegenwoordigen, zou weten wat zij weten, dan was het natuurlijk snel gedaan met de steun van hun onderdanen en daarmee konden de plannen de prullenbak in. Dit spel speelt zich voor een belangrijk deel af in de media. Passief geworden door moe te zijn na weer een dag hard werken en door vervolgens de hapklare brokken van de main stream media te consumeren, loopt de massa in de pas. Vandaag loopt een deel van de massa uit de pas en demonstreren miljoenen tegen de komende oorlog met Irak.

Zij laten zich niet gek maken door het niet bestaande maar wel effectieve ministerie van Angst. Een ministerie dat al duizenden jaren bestaat, maar de laatste tijd wordt voorgezeten door het kabinet BushBlairBalkenende. Michael Moore stelde het onderwerp centraal in zijn uitstekende documentaire Bowling for Columbine, waarin ook een gesprek met Barry Glassner, de schrijver van het boek The Culture of Fear. Zoals we op alle journaals konden zien, loopt het storm in de anti-terreurwinkels in de VS. Tegelijk bewaken 16.000 anti-terreurtroepen de democratie in New York. Helicopters vliegen rond en waar nodig wordt een snelweg of een brug afgezet. Niet zo vreemd gezien de staat van paraatheid die de Amerikaanse regering heeft uitgeroepen, namelijk 'hoog', weergegeven met de kleur oranje. Maar waar is dat op gebaseerd?

Misleidend Brits rapport
Eerder werd de Britse bevolking al angst ingeboezemd voor Irak met een document waarvan later bleek dat het ging om het Irak van 1991 en was overgeschreven van het werk van een student. 'International affairs expert Dan Plesch of the Royal United Services Institute in London told Channel 4 that the alleged plagiarism was "scandalous." "This document is clearly presented to the British public as the product of British intelligence and it clearly is nothing of the kind."' Colin Powell noemde het een '"fine paper ... which describes in exquisite detail Iraqi deception activities"'. Vervolgens kwam Powell in de Veiligheidsraad met een multimediaal verhaal waar uiteindelijk weinig bondgenoten veel waarde aan hechtten. Pas daarna werd hij echt eerlijk, door gisteren te beweren dat snel tot handelen moet worden overgegaan omdat anders 'het moment" weg is. Daar heeft hij gelijk in, want van Saddam zullen we niet veel meer horen als 'het moment' weg is en de wereld zal overgaan tot de orde van de dag. Prettig voor die wereld, jammer voor de VS.

Misleidend Amerikaans rapport
Hopelijk kijken de hamsterende en oranje-uitslaande Amerikanen naar ABC, want die onthult: 'Terror Alert Partly Based on Fabricated Information'. '"This piece [informatie verzonnen door een vermeend lid van Al Qaida] of that puzzle turns out to be fabricated and therefore the reason for a lot of the alarm, particularly in Washington this week, has been dissipated after they found out that this information was not true," said Vince Cannistraro, former CIA counter-terrorism chief and ABCNEWS consultant. [...] Despite the fabricated report, there are no plans to change the threat level. Officials said other intelligence has been validated and that the high level of precautions is fully warranted. [...] New York Gov. George Pataki said it is important for people to be alert to anything suspicious around them, but that they should not spread rumors that could create panic.' Denk ook aan de uitspraak 'Fear is good, panic is bad', gedaan in deze DeepJouirnal, naar aanleiding van overheidsproject East River.
ABC: 'It's not the first time a captured al Qaeda operative has made up a huge story and scared a lot of people.' Misschien ook niet zo gek als je dit artikel leest van de Washington Post dat schrijft over de Amerikaanse verhoortechnieken: ''Stress and Duress' Tactics Used on Terrorism Suspects Held in Secret Overseas Facilities'. Misleiding door de CIA
'CIA 'sabotaged inspections and hid weapons details'', kopte The Independent gisteren. De krant citeert daarmee de democratische senator Carl Levin. 'Senior democrats have accused the CIA of sabotaging weapons inspections in Iraq by refusing to co-operate fully with the UN and withholding crucial information about Saddam Hussein's arsenal. Led by Senator Carl Levin, the Democrats accused the CIA of making an assessment that the inspections were unlikely to be a success and then ensuring they would not be. They have accused the CIA director of lying about what information on the suspected location of weapons of mass destruction had been passed on. [...] Mr Levin said later he believed the CIA had, in effect, taken the decision to undermine the inspections. "When they've taken the position that inspections are useless, they are bound to fail," he told The Washington Post. "We have undermined the inspectors."' De CIA is hiermee in ieder geval consequent. Bij de vorige wapeninspecties probeerden ze wapeninspecteur Scott Ritter zover te krijgen dat hij provocaties zou uitlokken zodat een Amerikaanse aanval gerechtvaardigd zou lijken. Dankzij of ondanks alle misleiding: oorlog met Irak is een kwestie van tijd. Zegt ook ex-CNN-journalist Peter Arnett in de HUMO van deze week: 'Ik heb geen enkele twijfel dat er oorlog komt. Al sinds afgelopen zomer is me duidelijk dat de regering-Bush afstevent op een confrontatie. [...] Ergens in februari vallen de eerste bommen. Dat zeggen ook mijn bronnen in het Pentagon. De Amerikanen zullen voldoende reden vinden om zichzelf en de rest van de wereld ervan te overtuigen dat nu het moment is aangebroken. Zelfs als de wapeninspecteurs helemaal niks vinden. Veel later beginnen zou militair ook ondoenlijk zijn. De luchtaanval neemt een kleine maand in beslag, gevolgd door een grondinvasie. Die is deels weersgebonden. In mei en juni is de hitte ondraaglijk, en desastreus voor mobiele voertuigen als tanks en trucks, want dan kookt de olie over. De grondoorlog moet dus plaatsvinden in de koelere periode, dus tussen nu en eind maart of april. In feite voert Amerika niet meer dan een diplomatieke dans uit'. Arnett is bij CNN ontslagen na een reportage over mensenrechtenschendingen door het Amerikaanse leger tijdens de Vietnam-oorlog. In verband met de komende oorlog is hij door CNN aangetrokken als deskundig commentator.

WHO plays dubious role in Swine flu pandemic

On June 11, 2009 Margaret Chan, the Director-General of the WHO, declared the Swine Flu a pandemic. The declaration of phase six means that emergency procedures are put into motion which bypass established systems designed to safeguard the public health. The result of this is described in part six of this DeepJournal series on the Swine Flu. Conclusion: the vaccine is being tested while being administered to the public. The definition of what a pandemic is, is therefore of great import.

Government flu advisors not independent

Ab Osterhaus is playing an important role in the affair surrounding the Swine Flu. Through his influence and conflicts of interest, he personifies a system that is now being subjected to investigation from all directions. Soon the investigators will undoubtedly stumble upon SAGE, the strategic advisory group of vaccine and immunity experts for the World Health Organization, or WHO. Osterhaus turns up here as well - he is an expert with SAGE.

Influence of industry on 'fake pandemic' investigated

Also beyond The Netherlands the question is being raised over whether the large-scale acquisition of vaccines made sense. The Council of Europe began an investigation into this question last Tuesday. 'A number of members of the Council of Europe have expressed exceptionally harsh criticism of the World Health Organization and are asking themselves out loud whether drug manufacturers had too much influence in this decision'.
